Compliments from the Hubby

Just a little anecdote for you all.

The other day as I cleaned out the closet (maybe that nesting thing is kicking in?) David and I discussed, as we often do, what our daughter might possibly be like. It went something like this:

David: "I hope she's smart. She'll probably be smart. Don't you think hon?"

Valerie (sarcastically as usual): "I don't know...isn't that kind of a lot to ask? We want her to NOT be ugly and be smart? Maybe that's a little demanding."

David (trying to be sweet): "That's not true. Look at you! You're not ugly OR smart."

Pause.

Valerie: "Wait a second. I think you just proved my point."
