A Timeout From the Madness

As I mentioned in my last post, David works hard ALL the time. Pretty much every weekend is packed. During the week we both keep busy and when he IS home Em has been all his so that I can work. (I've been doing quite a bit of freelance.)

This weekend we had a narrow window of opportunity between events to get some family time in so, after some much needed shopping, we took the Munch downtown to try out the brand new carousel. Her first ride ever. She really loved it, but she was pretty tuckered out so she looks pretty serious in all these.

Note to self: when staring through a camera lens, always be aware of your surroundings. I actually fell right off of the carousel taking that last picture. When it was my turn for a ride with her I took the camera so I could get some closeups before the ride started. Well I went around to the side and just kept backing up. Next thing I know I'm falling off of the carousel and basically taking out the fence around it. HILARIOUS... and unfortunately for me, embarrassing. Got the shot though! Good times.

Also, do you like her top?

Yeah, I made that. :) Pretty proud of myself for taking on such a terrifying looking sewing project. Amazingly enough it turned out pretty cute... as long as you aren't inspecting for junk like straight seams. You can make one too. I followed this tutorial. Wouldn't it make a cute dress? That's my next project.

We took Mckenna on her first carousel ride recently too. And I made that exact same top for Mckenna, but it was pink and black. You have good taste! :)
