Ducky Drop

Last night David and I took Emery on a little outing to the Washington Community Center Ducky Drop. (Side Note: We live right next to Washington, Utah. So now when I say I'm from Washington I still have to add 'state.' When I was in STL people assumed I meant DC and here people assume just down the way. My life is hard, I know.) ANYWAY... D got free tickets because he has the hookups since he works a lot of their races, but Munch had so much fun I totally would have paid for them. I mean LOOK AT THIS FACE!

She loved splashing! Funny considering she doesn't even splash in the bath tub. She also loved crawling in and out, over and over and over. When she'd crawl back in she'd sort of slide like a seal. Add her new face, we call it "The Zoe", and you've got some fine entertainment.

She also loved wearing my sunglasses, talking to other kids and trying to pull David in by lifting him up one foot at a time. She hated the bounce swings.

Now here is my only complaint.

It comes time to drop the ducks at the Ducky Drop and the lifeguard climbs up the slide and starts tossing down...

Dolphins? What?!

I mean we'd been telling Munch all night "You're gonna get a duck!" And weirdly enough she really likes ducks. It was one of her first words after all, so she is running around saying "Duh. Duh." Well APPARENTLY her age group is the only group that doesn't get ducks. L-A-M-E.

Okay, okay. She didn't really know the difference. She was just happy that she could chew on it, but COME ON! I lied to my kid all night. :)

I was actually really happy to see her so confidently dive right into the throngs of other two and unders to chase her little dolphin. No fear. Even when kids (well over the age of two eh-hem) snatched dolphins from right out in front of her she just kept chasing them until she had one in each fist. It may sound kind of silly but it made me kind of proud to see her out there just going for it not even close to being intimidated. She's spunky this one.

Second favorite part of the night involved that sign by D's feet.

As you can see, it reads 0 ft 4 in. As you can't see, right next to it reads "NO DIVING." Seriously.
