Halloween Still Happened

I'm sitting on my bed, well A bed anyway because my bed is still in storage but I suppose that is beside the point. I'm sitting on the bed staring out the window at a yard and street covered in snow and ice. I'm looking at the few yellow leaves still hanging onto the tree for dear life and wondering how I completely missed my favorite season. Rainy Washington. Stupid Rexburg. I suppose that season missing can be expected when your life is in chaos mode. In spite of the chaos we did make it to a pumpkin patch, albeit a completely mud muddy one. And Halloween did in fact happen in spite of a missing daddy and hubs who was still in STL.

The raspberry duck face. Ever present in photographs.

Pals for life I'm sure.

My own pumpkin mom?!

I love it so much I'm going to kiss it regardless of the dirt.

Evan just wanted to give her every pumpkin he found. Sweet kid.

IMG_0617Two pumpkins are better than one. Right Em?

Not as good as this weird little squash I found Mom. I'm going to hold it, and hug it, and refuse to let it go. Okay?

And then we carved them.

And this is Emery holding her hand to her head saying "Da da. Da da." She really wanted to tell him about those jack-o-lanterns. She was starting to believe that the phone was in fact her dad. No good.

We went to the community trunk or treat on drizzly Saturday evening. Cave woman, cave boy and our pet stegosaurus. Not gonna lie. I'm kind of proud that I made all three of these costumes for around ten bucks. Booyah. :)

Of course since Halloween fell on a Sunday she needed a festive, but appropriate outfit for church. So I finally got around to making the baby legs from the clearance tube socks that I bough back in July. Why I didn't make them before I don't know, because hello easy. Hello a-freakin-dorable! (Prepare for the onlsaught of photos.)

And a kiss goodbye to Centerville for a little while.

For those of you thinking to yourselves "Why is she in Rexburg? I'm so confused," it is a long and confusing story which I will sum up without all the sobbing and extra chaos. D had a preceptorship in Washington set up which began to fall through, then all possibilities of all preceptorships in the state of Washington fell through. Then he was staying in Missouri. Then he set one up in Rexburg. It fell through too and he was once again staying in STL. Then he found another doc in Rexburg willing to work with him. It didn't fall through, thank the heavens, and now we are in Rexburg for the next six to eight weeks. Except a short jaunt back to Washington/Oregon for his board exams.

We are homeless vagabonds.
